Motivational Speech
North Korea Speech Outline
NK Speech Supplemental PowerPoint Presentation

I chose to feature the above "Motivational Speech" because I think it highlights my abilities to appeal to a crowd with attention grabbing rhetorical techniques and pathos appeal. Because it was a motivational speech, the objective of the speech was to deliver persuasive arguments deeming an issue as urgent and a policy as necessary and feasible. This speech was very effective in achieving those goals.
The introduction was unique in that it stimulated the audience to think. The speech began by asking the audience to look at a word and think of the first image that comes to mind. This word was "North Korea." The otherwise aesthetically rather simple PowerPoint, contained stereotypical "North Korean" images, such as Kim Jung Il, nuclear bombs, and the political cartoons poking fun at the Nation's political instability and mentally unstable leader. However, the next set of presentation slides contained images that deviated from the typical North Korean image. These images displayed the devastating acts of human rights violations that occur every day. Such an introduction, such a transition, and such a sudden change in direction was key in achieving success. The speech continued on with horrifying statistics to support the initial claim about the human rights violations crisis. Heavily laced with pathos, this speech was overall a cleanly executed speech that caused the hearts of the audience to take action and donate a dollar.
